Covid-19: Positive Results

What's next?

If you test positive for COVID-19 -

1. Know what protective steps to take if you are sick.

Most people have mild COVID-19 illness and can recover at home without medical care. Contact your healthcare provider if your symptoms are getting worse or if you have questions about your health. (CDC)

2. Contact anyone that you've had close contact* with in the last few days.

The Arkansas Department of Health will be in touch with you to obtain a list of possible contacts but letting them know as soon as possible is the best bet for stopping the spread of COVID-19.

*Close contact = within 6 feet of a COVID-19 positive person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, 2 days prior to specimen collection that led to positive result) until the time the patient is isolated.
